ABOUT DRESSES AND CAPES (AKA LAUREN)

I'm Lauren aka Dressesandcapes, I started my cosplay journey about 5 years ago and it's been a whirlwind ever since! I have won several awards:

• WONDERCON BEST IN SHOW 2018

• LONG BEACH COMIC CON BEST ANIME 2019

• SELECTED AS A COMPETITOR FOR OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT TEAM USA AT WORLD COSPLAY COMPETITION 2019

I am a completely self taught seamstress and crafter so I have taken on every cosplay as a new challenge and learning opportunity. I have been on several panels at different conventions regarding a variety of topics (please check my FEATURES AND COLLABORATIONS to see a full list).

My love of nerdom and geeky fashion helped fuel my initial interest in cosplay, but the creativity I have been able to express has kept me interested and my passion alive.

I am also an avid member of the Disney and Disneybound community, having been featured several times on Pop Sugar and in the “DisneyBound” book my Leslie Kay. I have made some of my closest friends in the Disney community and love that I able to express my creativity everytime I visit Disneyland.
