Hi guys! It has been forever! I have been so busy with life, that I let my blog fall to the wayside, but no more! I hope to now update my blog more regularly with outfit photos, cosplay photos, and potentially cosplay explainers (aka faux tutorials).

I'm so excited to be back to blogging and can't wait to really dive back into the blogging sphere. For the next month or so, expect to see small changes on the blog (as I am still deciding on the final design) and traveling back in time. You may ask, "How are you going back in time?" Well, simply put I will be posting a back log of posts such as Wondercon, Renaissance Faire,Dapper Day outfits, etc. So expect to see a lot of posts coming your way!

But back to this post...I have recently been feeling nostalgic and been wearing a lot of my vintage outfits more casually. This picnic dress, as I like to call it, was worn to hang out with some friends on a Saturday and just chill. I love weekends like that and feel like I need a few more like that.

Vintage Affair

My love affair with vintage continues. When my friend told me about a vintage fair in LA, of course I had to go! And while the outside of the building and the description of free mimosas and snacks looked super promising, it was a bit disappointing. It was slightly disappointing because of the size of the venue, and the prices some vendors were selling their goods at. But, even with these disappointing factors, I walked away with two beautiful vintage dresses (for a deal) and had a wonderful time sipping mimosas and catching up with my cousin. I truly feel that how you decide to handle a situation will determine whether you have a good time or not, and so I always try to walk-in with a positive attitude.

Quick side note on my dress. It is a true vintage dress I got on Etsy for about $40 (with shipping) and took to my tailor to get fitted. My tailor works absolute magic! The bottom half of the dress was originally huge on me and she made it nice and form-fitting! A quick reminder for my fellow vintage fashionistas: true vintage wiggle dresses has little to no stretch, so when getting it tailored don't get it too tight! Don't want to pop those seams!

Fall Dapper Day- Keepin' It Classy

Dress: Vintage, Belt: Vintage, Hat: Vintage, Purse: Vintage, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Petticoat: Malcomodes So, finally posting about ACTUAL Fall Dapper Day! And my second Dapper Day was just as fun, if not more fun, than my first Dapper Day because I now knew what to expect. My friend and I knew what we wanted to do that day: take beautiful pictures and run around California Adventure! Last Dapper Day, I barely got to go to California Adventure but this time, I was able to full embrace it AND finally go to Cars Land! Before this I never wanted to wait in land, so I would skip it, but my friend insisted we get it as our first Fast Pass. And I loved it! While I don't like the Cars movies, and had to hold by victory rolls in place (vintage aesthetic struggle) I had such a blast when we were zooming around the track! I forgot how fun California Adventure is! I really hope to visit it again soon (hint hint *wink wink*).

Overall, the day was full of running into other beautifully dressed people, eating delicious food (including getting ice cream even though it was quite cold at night), and just enjoying the Disneyland way of life. The only sad part, was that the day got dark so early! While it was beautiful to watch the skyline, and watch the parade, I always like to stretch out my "day" as long as possible when at Disneyland. I love Disneyland and I love dressing up in vintage dresses so Dapper Day is a dream come true for me.

Quick side note, my dress is vintage and (I think) looks pretty fab, but can you believe I got it on Ebay for only $31!? I love shopping for vintage online because as long as you know your measurements and don't mind asking the seller some questions, you can get some seriously amazing deals. I actually have my Spring Dapper Day dress picked out and found it on Ebay! Don't knock it until you try it!

Fall Dapper Day Expo

One of the (many) things I love about Dapper Day Expo is that it gives me an excuse to dress up, straighten my hair, practice my pin-up hairdo's, and spend time with some of the swankiest people I have ever seen.

This was my second Dapper Day Expo and I do enjoy it. It gives me a few hours of walking around in some beautiful vintage clothes, mingle with vintage vendors, and maybe purchase a vintage item or two (including the earrings I'm wearing).

After wandering the Disney Hotel ball room my friend and I decided to have lunch in Downtown Disney, and I got to finally eat at the rain forest cafe! Funny story, the one and only time I was grounded it was the night of a friend's birthday party where we were all to suppose to go to the Rainforest Cafe. And because I was grounded, I never got to go, and for some reason in all my years I never went to Rainforest Cafe after that incident. But now I have finally gone and gotta say...it was ok. It was very pretty and decorated creatively, but the food was ok and kinda expensive. Anywhose...

After Dapper Day Expo comes actual Dapper Day! So excited for Dapper Day and my Dapper Day outfit. Post to come soon! Tell me about your vintage finds, like what was your best random vintage find? Until then, TTFN, ta ta for now.

Disneyland Minnie Disneybound

In case you can't tell I'm a Disneyland fiend. Anytime I have the opportunity to go to Disneyland, I will take it. And of course, when I'm at Disneyland I'm going to Disneybound, and who would I do but the famous Mouse herself? Minnie Mouse! I actually almost wore my Minnie Mouse cosplay that I wore to D23, but I thought was a little too on the nose. (haha! I crack myself up). But highlight! When we were watching the parade, Belle noticed me and did a bow motion and smiled! Guys, Belle liked my Disneybound! So happy! I even got it on camera, sort of...

Anyways, as always I had an absolute blast at Disneyland and it was made even better by the fact that I got to go with my sis, cousin, and best friend. We had so much fun walking around the park and singing Disney songs, trying to join parades (and promptly being told we can't), and eating ourselves silly with snacks (Disney themed of course). I wish that I could go to Disneyland every week with these guys, but unfortunately we have the real world to deal with. Japan Adventures- Himeji Castle and Hello Kitty

I apologize for the delay in posting, but sometimes you gotta deal with other stuff before you can blog. Anywhose, this will be my final individual Japan post. My next one will be a wrap up post that combines my last few days in Japan. So enjoy the shots of Himeji and the surronding area!

When my friends and I were in Japan (which now has been several months ago, geez I'm way behind in blogging!) we knew we wanted to go see a castle, but there are many different options and with everything we wanted to do, we knew we could only see one. Luckily, another friend was also traveling in Japan at the same time and he suggested Himeji Castle. And you know what, he was totally right. Before his suggestion I actually did not really know about Himeji Castle, but I'm so glad we decided to go.

But, before we before we actually got to Himeji Castle, my friends and I were on a hunt to find somewhere to grab breakfast, and oh boy, do I feel like we hit the jackpot. A Hello Kitty themed cafe! Everything was so adorable and pink, and it was a totally unexpected find. It was even better because we were the only patrons there because it was so early so we got to take in the whole restaurant without disturbing anyone. So, it was a pretty great start to the day already.

Himeji Castle was absolutely stunning as it was surronded by hundreds of cherry blossom trees that were in full bloom and creating a carpet of cherry blossom petals, that I just so happened to match with my sweater! Plus, since we went on a weekday early in the morning, there were not that many people and we were able to get through the castle rather quickly. The castle has a set course of where you can walk as they do not want people ruining the castle by walking everywhere and touching everything. So, to get to the top of the castle there is somewhat of a line you go through since you are all on an organized path. Oh! But that sight at the top is totally worth it. It is absolutely stunning to see the surronding area especially with all the cherry blossom trees in full bloom.

After wandering the castle grounds, my friends and I found a garden area with a small shrine that was overflowing with greenery. The garden not only had beautiful plant life but amazing waterfalls and ponds with Koi fish. If you are visiting Himeji Castle make sure to walk down the path a bit until you find the garden area. I'm just so glad we went in the spring and were able to see all the plant life in full bloom.

And then after this wonderful day of taking in ancient castles and exquisite scenery, we somehow ended up at a club in Dottonbori, Osaka. Ce la vie! Well, I hope to have my wrap up post of Japan sometime this week, so keep an eye out! TTFN, ta ta for now.
