GUYS! I did an interview with Black Nerd Problems recently and am so proud to share it with you! So many pictures! I probably took close to 300 pictures on the 3rd day of Wondercon! There were just so many amazing cosplays and things to see, plus my cosplay came out better than expected. I pretty much did this cosplay in a day, and I would say it was success. In case you can't tell, I'm Lana from Archer. I can't tell you how many people yelled at me from across the convention hall, "LANA!!!" And I always screamed back "WHAT!?" Reply, "Dangerzone." It was great. Who knew being yelled at could be so much fun. I even got to meet another group of Archer cosplayers, which was amazing! Cosplaying with a group, seems so fun. Wish I could have a group for my next cosplay.
And some advice for anyone going to a con, Sunday seems to be a much calmer day that allows you to just enjoy the atmosphere. I just walked around, bought some goodies, and took pictures. I wish I had gone to some panels though, there was actually a panel about "Fashion and Comics", which would have been perfect!
Anyway, I got to have my picture taken by a few photographers, and it was quite fun. I never had my picture really taken by a photographer before (except at school picture days a long time ago), so it was a new experience. As always, I can't wait until the next con. I am already planning my next cosplay and thinking about how much materials will cost (*tears*). But I love cosplaying, so it's all worthi it. Until then, TTFN ta ta for now.

What a whirlwind! I can't believe Wondercon was only a week ago! It feels so much longer!
This was my first time attending Wondercon and what a blast! I bought a 3 day pass, but ended up only going 2 days. Which I think is a perfect amount of time because the first day I got to walk around, visit a few panels and see other cosplayers. On the second day I just walked around and relaxed, had my picture taken and just enjoyed the atmosphere (pictures of the second day coming soon).
My first day there, which was technically Day 2, I cosplayed as Korra from the Legend of Korra, but a battle/armored Korra. This was my own design of the character. I imagined what she would wear if the battle with Kuvira had continued in Season 4. When I did my makeup the goal was that when I closed my eyes it looked like I was in Avatar state, don't know if I succeeded (you are the judge). This was also my first time working with eva foam and making armor. While making the armor was difficult, it was doable (thanks to all the tutorials online) and I was even able to put my own design on the back of Raava (which I imagined Korra would take up as her symbol in battle). The hardest part was actually figuring out how to attach everything to myself. This was definitely a learning moment. Next time, I know that I have to buy straps and buckles and all that good stuff. In addition, Next time I am definitely wearing a wig. While it's nice to have my own hair because it looks more natural, it is a pain. Since my hair is naturally curly and dyed a light color I had to straighten and spray it with temporary color which means frizz. Ugh, the bottom of my hair was large by the end of the day. Lesson learned.
Beside that, I had a blast as Korra. I talked to other Korra fans (even met an Asami, Korrasami OTP) and other cosplayers, which I love to do. I have very few people in my life that I can nerd out with, so conventions like this are what I wait for all year (plus I love cosplaying now!).
I loved Day 2, and Day 3 was even crazier. Stay tuned! TTFN, ta ta for now.

This past weekend, my friend and I took the perilous journey to San Diego and visited "The Marvel Experience" in Del Mar. And what a goddamn treat it was. I did not really know what to expect given I heard about it at Kamikaze and all they said it was, "interactive domes that take you into the Marvel universe", pretty vague right? Anyways, when we got there sure enough there were three giant domes. Before we could enter the domes we had to register as S.H.I.E.L.D agents, which was fun (my name was Lauren Asimov, in honor of Isacc Asimov). Once inside you are told you are in training to become a S.H.I.E.L.D operative. The first dome is more informational with cool gadgets and little games. The second dome is the cool dome, where you get to do more interactive games. My favorite games were flying the IronMan suit, smashing enemy robots like the Hulk, and getting through a maze of lazers like Black Widow (I did pretty well on the Black Widow game, while my friend dominated at the Hulk game). After the fun dome, you go into a 3-D dome and watch characters like Iron Fist and She-Hulk fight Hydra and other enemies (and can I just take a second and say how amazing it was to see She-Hulk included, I mean her comic is being cancelled this month, which is a shame, but to see her stand next to the guys as the second female on the team was truly amazing!). You finally end with a great motion 3-D experience (think Star Tours at Disneyland). When I left the final dome, I was so excited because all I could think was that this was prototype for a Marvel Land in one of the Disney Parks in the future. Granted, I will probably be much older once they open, but I will still be one of the first ones in line.
After this exciting adventure, my friend and I took a drive into La Jolla, and were promptly greeted my a huge sweeping of marine layer blocking out the blazing sun that had been there only 10 minutes before. So instead of dipping my feet in the ocean like I wanted, I was resigned to walk around La Jolla, eating good food, and ending my night with ice cream (at the cutest ice cream shop in existence!). I also finally bought Madewell black pumps which I actually have been telling myself I would do for months, finally took the plunge and did it. Phew! This was a long post! TTFN, ta ta for now.

P.S. Be warned that if you decide to go to the Marvel Experience, the lines get longer as the day goes by. My friend and I arrived at 11:30am and it wasn't that crowded but by the time we were out of the domes the line to get in had expanded greatly.
Only 5 days late! This past weekend I went to Stan Lee's Comikaze in LA, and what a blast! I dressed up as Dee from "Rat Queens", and about 13 people recognized who I was! So, that was super exciting (btw, if you are not, go read "Rat Queens"). The writer and illustrator of "Rat Queens" even liked my cosplay on Instagram, so that was super exciting. :D
This is a great Con and highly recommend anyone in the area to visit. I didn't go to any panels this time, but walked the floor and took in the sights. There were so many amazing cosplayers, and I took about 200 pictures of them, so this is just the best of the best.The Captain Marvel (@ladyshepard on instagram) was super sweet and ran over to tell me she dressed up as Hannah the day before, so I was bummed that I couldn't of seen her the day before but so happy to have met such a wonderful person. I love going to Cons, and am really proud that I made this cosplay myself! This was my first time really using a sewing machine and I think it came out as a success. So, yay! I can't wait to Wonder-Con and am excited about my next cosplay (I have no idea what I should wear!). Until then, TTFN ta ta for now.

Hello World! I am so proud to be opening up this blog. I am overjoyed at the thought of being able to combine my two passions of fashion and comics. I know they seem like two very different things but they are two things that I enjoy. Style is something personal and I am able to express my own personal style everyday. I love dressing up in cute clothes and venturing out into the day, it kinda makes me feel like a superhero...not really. I'm sure at one point in everyone's life they imagine themselves a superhero and with my blog I get to write about this.
I know that everyone may not agree with my opinion on the comics I discuss, but I know that we all have our own opinion and I respect that. I also may not know everything about the origin of some of the heroes, but I do try to educate myself. :) I am always open to suggestions for something to read and if I make a mistake please tell me so I can correct myself.
